The Secret GAIDS Holocaust

I have not posted in a few weeks, not because I haven’t had something to say just because I have been able to form my thoughts the right way. When in I went to Nola’s last weekend Dan, Adam and I met two guys by the name of Tom and Dylan. Tom and Dylan were for lack (or want) of a better word manwhores. But not just any manwhores, they were bisexual (what Dan would call slutty) and made a point to tell us this fact several times before leaving with someone who was obviously in the early stages of AIDS. Anyhow, these guys were hard up for all the mangina that they could get there sweaty hands on and for some reason they thought Dan, Adam and I would be good for it. Despite being obviously coked up or tweeked out, these guys exhibited behavior not unlike the secret sub-culture of bug-chasing in America which is where this entry is headed. This phenomena (if you want to call it that) is something that has taken the gay bath houses and discos by storm. Bug-chasing is when a faggot has decided it would be easier to be HIV+ than to wear a raincoat with the numerous people they fuck. This is a self-imposed death sentence and while those who have tried to commit suicide either fail and receive help or foolishily succeed, bug-chasers and gift-givers (those who give their “charged” loads to expecting and unexpecting partners) interact and encourage other homosexuals to become among “the walking dead” and embrace their carnal needs whole-heartedly rather than wear a bleedin’ condom, refrain from multiple sexual partners in one sexual escapade, and live a short yet physically crippling life with AIDS. After hearing the story of a 21 year old child (he doesn’t deserve to be called a man with his mindset) who equated having sex with several HIV+ men in attempts in receiving the gift as the best decision of his life. He “reasoned” that being HIV+ as the only true way of being able to create lasting intimate bonds through the exchange of semen. I can help but wonder how one can see AIDS as anything other than it is, a deadly disease that still threatens the whole world. Yes new treatments make people live longer but they live with constant pill-popping, medication side-effects, and social rejection. While I do not look down on those who have contracted AIDS accidentally, those who are in seach of it as some cure to their intimacy issues seems like they deserve my GAIDS jokes and my personal rejections of seeing anything positive (other than awareness and education) with this disease. They give homosexuals who are sane a bad name and further the idea of the sex-crazed, immoral homosexual who lives for nothing more than a drug-induced fuck. I have honestly never been sadder to be a gay man in America than I am now. We are living through a secret AIDS Holocaust that is being carried out not by the government but by each other in hopes to establishing bonds with one another when we need to realize we are bonded in the very idea of love just like every other human on this planet.
